About This Program

This program is newly expanded to meet the growing need and now features instruction from the National Center for Construction and Education Research (NCCER) Contren Core. Levels 1 and 2 will be covered.Level one includes basic core construction skills and craft specific topics such as Welding Safety Oxyfuel Cutting Plasma Arc Cutting Air Carbon Arc Cutting and Gouging Base Metal Preparation Weld Quality Equipment and Setup Shielded Metal Arc Electrodes SMAW Beads and Fillet Welds Joint Fit Up and Alignment SMAW Groove Welds with Backing and SMAW Open V Groove Welds.Level 2 courses include Welding Symbols Reading Welding Detail Drawings Physical Characteristics and Mechanical Properties of Metals Preheating and Post heating of Metals GMAW and FCAW-Equipment and Filler Metals GMAW and FCAW Plate Equipment and Filler Materials and GTWAW Plate.
