About This Program
This program is designed to prepare students for the beginning level of employment as machinists. Instruction involves making computations relating to work dimensions tooling and feeds and speeds of machines. It also emphasizes benchwork use of lathes shapers milling machines grinders and drills; the use of precision measuring instruments such as layout tools micrometers and gauges; reading blue prints; and layout of the machine parts. The second year will learn advanced machining processes including basic and intermediate CNC programming.
