About This Program
The Automotive Light-Duty Diesel Technology program is balanced between basic general education courses common to all college programs and requirements in automotive light-duty diesel technology courses. It is designed to prepare individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to diagnose adjust repair or overhaul light-duty diesel vehicles under one ton classification. Includes instruction in electrical systems diesel-electric drive engine performance engine repair emission systems and all types of diesel engines related to the light duty diesel vehicle. The objective of our Light Duty Diesel concentration is to provide students with the skills to work on light-duty consumer vehicles and trucks with diesel engines. Students study various manufacturer’s engines and examine how diesel power and performance is achieved.
