About This Program
Certificate. This non-credit 140-hour hybrid intensive healthcare program prepares applicants to sit for certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). This program will prepare students for entry-level pharmacy technician positions by teaching medical and pharmaceutical terminology basic anatomy related to the pharmacology of medications and pharmaceutical calculations. Pharmacy technicians assist licensed pharmacists by preparing prescriptions ordering supplies maintaining patient records billing mixing medications as directed by a pharmacist and other duties that do not require professional skills and judgement of a board certified pharmacist.
